About us
Slipway Autos is run under the watchful eye of Gordon Penman who established the business in 1989.
Having set up Slipway Autos alone initially, Gordon now has a team of 4 fully trained and qualified vehicle technicians who will look after all of your needs from a minor scratch on your front wing to a full engine rebuild. Our mechanics and panel beaters are all trained or in the process of being trained to the highest level of the City and Guilds qualifications through hands on experience under expert supervision in our state of the art fully equipped garage. To gain these qualifications our staff also attend Inverness College, where they gain even more technical experience and theoretical knowledge ensuring that you the customer can rest assured that your car is in safe hands.
MOT Centre
In May 2004 we installed our new and up to date MOT centre which means that we are the only provider in Fort William able to provide a full range of M.O.T. tests from class 4, 5a & 7. Check out our Workshop page for more details on prices and classifications.
Practical Car & Van Hire
Starting the car and van hire side of the business in March 1997 we soon recognised the need for an affordable quality vehicle rental outlet in Fort William. Practical suited the needs of our customers exactly, offering a high quality standard of vehicles combined with excellent rates to suit all pockets.
